The only licensed brewery shop in the west of Ireland, Black Donkey Brewing have been perfecting their traditional craft beer brewing techniques at their Roscommon base for the last seven years. With a previously limited website with only basic information about the popular beer business, they needed a significant upgrade to their online presence which included the ability to sell their beer online.
Thin Slice Digital designed a completely new and bespoke website that provides a detailed insight into the microbrewery’s beers, ethos, and brewing methodologies whilst also providing ecommerce functionality to sell their beer to a much wider audience than previously possible. Additional features such as a Stockist Locator now also make it easier for their loyal customer base to find local sellers of their additive and preservative free craft beer.

Prior to 2021 our websites, (we’d had a few) were simply basic information sources, as we weren’t licensed for direct to consumer sales. When we finally secured a retail license, during the pandemic no less, we immediately realised that a comprehensive and user friendly eCommerce enabled website would become a key part of our business. Justin did a comprehensive assessment of what we wanted and needed, and got straight to work. We migrated some of the content from our old site, and between us, we generated new and updated content for the new site. Due to the variable nature of some of our products and some complex shipping issues, building our store was not straightforward, but Justin and his team kept their focus, and the communications channels open, and delivered the solutions we needed. The handover of the site, and the transition from old to new, including our various email accounts was completely seamless.
